How to change a radiator?(didn't find it in the stickies)
Hey, guys, I went through the stickies, but no luck. I would like some help(information wise) on how to change the radiator-mine is leaking. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I think thats the weasy one of all . Unbolt pull out and your done lol. Really drain it first then there are 2 hoses. Look around and you can find the brackets that hold the radiator they are right on top and lift out. You can take it out with the fans on it just unplug them.

Thanks, I can get the fans off to put on a new radiator right?
|
Yes sir but its easier to do it out of the car.

drain the coolant, there will be 4 lines on the radiator if the car is an automatic, 2 big ones for coolant and 2 small ones for the tranny. Take the cooling fans out with the radiator and put them on the new radiator before you put it back in the car. You dont have to but it makes things easier. Then fill the radiator and run it for a bit. Keep an eye on the coolant level low because there will probabley be a bit of air in the cooling system.

Thanks a lot, guys!:)

btw: cooling sys is supposed to hold IIRC, 1.6 or 1.8 gal .... but keep an eye on it ... might overfill the rez a bit too. just above the full line

I just did the replacement, not hard at all. Here's my summary:

I was just looking at the radiator in my 95 maxima (which is getting replaced soon as it is leaking) and noticed there is a radiator in front of the radiator. Is that not a tranny cooler? I have an automatic transmission by the way.

maybe you're supercharged and just don't know it

I just had to replace my radiator too. I did it myself with a friend pretty much just using common sense, 4 hoses, a few screws.
no biggie |
