I'm making infants cry...any chance of a cheap catback? ebay?

Long story short...my custom 2.5" mandrel bent piping connected to a 5th gen muffler has just broken completely. It started out when the weld on the muffler/bpipe broke off, and with the extra stress on the rest of the exhaust, the flange on the bpipe/cat has now broken. I will be removing the exhaust tomorrow, and running open cat for a little while until I figure out how to fix this. I've had a lot of problems with this catback as far as fitment goes, and if I had access to a welder right now, I'd cut the whole thing apart and remake it.

Basically, I'm looking for cheap options. I don't trust a shop to do the work, because I feel that I will pay them a lot of money (probably 2 or 3 times what I actually paid for the exhaust 2 years ago) and they won't fix the fitment of the exhaust the way I would. I'm looking into the ebay options...here:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-N...spagenameZWDVW

However, it says something about an extra sensor pipe for 95-96 models? What's that about?

I really don't like the fart can look on maxima's...but at this point I just don't care anymore. I want an exhaust that fits well, sounds 'ok', and also won't cost more than what I paid for my s13 ($500).

Any input on ebay catbacks? THe more I think about it now as I'm typing this, I really don't want the fart can look, but I'm also tired of the non-fitting dual tip 5th gen catback that I have currently.

Any input?

Apexi World Series. Under $500 and will sound worlds better than any cheap ebay setup.

The S-pipe is for the 97-99, houses an O2 sensor. Their exhaust is slightly longer as well.

If not custom, I'd have to say :sprint: to mtrai760's suggestion. Personally, I would go with a custom; cost me less than $200 for a 2.5" custom bent catback + muffler.

maybe I'll do that then. I'll have to check prices in Rochester...and I could probably sell off the 5th gen muffler to someone, and use the 2.5" piping from the exhaust to finish up my intercooler piping.

Cheap is the name of the game...need to save the funds for the s13.

the pacesetter cat backs uber cheap.

damn...more problems. Took the time on sunday to take the exhaust clear off after the cat since it was dragging on the ground, and now all day my car started missing. I've tracked it down to one of the coil packs. So now in addition to having an obnoxiously loud car, it's running on 5 cylinders, sounds like a subie, and back fires. Among not having any power whatsoever. This car seems to be fighting me all at once, right when I should be concentrating on the end of this semester.

:nopity:

Lou, send me an IM sometime. I probably have a spare (front) coil laying around you can have.

I also know a decent exhaust shop that's maybe 20 minutes from RIT, you'd probably be looking at $200-250 to have something fabbed up.

Don't go too cheap

I made the mistake of going to a bargain rate exhaust shop (Mad Hatter in CT) to get mine replaced. I was assured it was OE equivalent. One winter later, there was a hole in the muffler the size of my fist! That thing must've been made of cardboard...

I'll keep that in mind thanks

I've decided to go with the shop Chris aka nearthisbridge suggested...They quoted about $250 for a new exhaust which I'm okay with. Thanks again for the coil pack Chris!! Works like a charm now.

what about gains ? if you're talking about getting a custom catback + muffler vs a aftermarket catback
