red/light taillight

I was planning on doing this mod to my car. I have the acrylic paper. I saw it on the how-to's but then I noticed its for the 97-99 max. Will this still work on my 96 max? Also, the acrylic plastic I bought is clear. It appears that whatever is in the taillights is not clear but textered? Do I need a different type of plastic? Help please!

It wont work. The yellow is not removable. You only have 2 choices for red clears for 95-96, either David L or eBay ones which are fugly imo. Shameless plug but I might be selling my David Ls at the end of the month

Nope no way. I have both 95 and 98. My 98 is getting red cleared. The 95 has to stay amber. The 98's have an Amber insert where as the 95's are molded in with the light.

There was one guy, way back in 2000 maybe, who cut his lights apart. It came out decent. I tried something similar back then but gave up quick. If you dont like the amber get some testors candy apple red and paint the tail light.
