Replaced alty, now a/c doesn't work. wire on a/c compressor?

I've searched all over, including the fsm, but can't seem to find where the wire goes that connects from clip mounted on the bottom of the a/c compressor (red/black stripe). It comes out from the clip on the compressor, but all I have is a one foot lead of wire with a metal clip on the end. It must have pulled when I lowered the compressor to replace the alternator.

The a/c compressor appears to go on now, but I've lost r134 and it won't accept a recharge on the low pressure fitting on the a/c. I have to assume that wire has an important function for the compressor.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Will gladly trade advice on how to replace the alternator in a parking lot.

After having my system evacuated at a local garage shop "Canadian Tire", they disconnected my compressor too.

Anyone know the details of reconnecting it?
Going to jack up the car this weekend for an oil change, and would like to be able to reconnect the compressor's wires.

Thanks

well, I figured it out to be a connection to the main wire that plugs into the alternator. I was careless when I moved the compressor around, and it pulled out from the harness.
