Ok I want to order weapon r coilovers and kyb agx struts. Before I order I just want to know what else I am going to need? I just want to be sure I am not going to be in over my head once I get all of it. And yes I did read the sticky...didnt quite understand it

Originally posted by Gotrice4 Check your stock strut/shock boots and make sure there ok, if not, get some new ones. Alot of the time people suggests getting new upper strut bearings, so if you have quite a few miles on your stockers, it wouldn't hurt to get some new ones. SuDZ |
anyone got an answer to sudz question?

Wow
I am considering the G/C with KYB struts... do we need to look at camber plates? Whats the thoughts on coilovers? I've heard good and bad about every brand posted here... and cattman too... but mostly good.

You WILL have a HARD ride --
it WILL get old after a while. you WILL find new rattles in your car. your dates WONT appreciate the ride quality (unless they like to mod cars too) without knowledgeable assistance, you'll constantly be spending time and money trying to balance the handling... With those fancy $1000 dollar coilovers, you'll need some fancy high dollar low profile tires to match. And of course that will require new bigger wheels. And when its that stiff, you have to get some strut tower braces too... And if you don't have ABS, your front tires will have a larger tendency to lock up if you don't have the camber angles dialed in correctly with some high traction tires (in the event that the balance is set up too stiff in the front) And of course your tires will wear down faster. You'll spend about $3000+ to get it right and it will still ride hard and you might gain a couple miles per hour in each turn. So you might win an autocross or two -- But you are young and you are curious so such is life -- be careful. |
Well Sweet...
I already have the rims, tires, ABS, FSTB, RSB...if she doesn't like moded cars then who needs her... Is the ride in a Coilover harder than just springs? |
self install
I was planning on doing it with a friend or two in my mechanics garage- he also happens to be my friends dad...so if I need help I got a pro around
|
sorry but I got another one
Will I need ajustable camber plates or can i just use the camber bolts I probably wont have it lowered too much most of the time. But it will be on it nuts occasionally
