Help ASAP strut install. axle won't tilt back

I'm installing my coilovers with some help but when we got to the last strut (front passenger side), I'm guessing the spindle (?) fell down and it won't tilt up to bolt back on the lower bolts on the strut. What can I do?

rubber mallet.
jack up the rotor edge with a wood block in between. (the smaller outer edge)

That's what we did :D. So far it worked so long as we don't screw something else up

well from what you're sayin & from the pics, It looks like the inner joint on the axle has seperated. Sometimes you can play with it and get it to slip back in place while still on th car, but I find it a little better to remove te axle & knock it back in.

You crazy! We beat the crap out of it till it decided to behave. We were afraid of messing it up by hitting it, but you can only take so much before you just give up and start slamming away.

Thanks for helping though you all. Problem solved, another lowered maxima hits the streets (on monday to go get an alignment).

wooo. I've never had that happen too me. That was interesting. My problem is I never expect the worse and then it happens lol. Ah well car looks good now!

^^^I always assume the worst, normally it happens to me. Like the month it took to even get coilovers. Or when I backed into the trailer in my driveway :D. <-- as you saw, the parents still don't let me forget that.

Oooo this happened to me when I was putting new axles in as well as when we put my Teins on.

IIRC, you have to twist and push the knuckle, and it should all go back in place.

Can you take a picture where you looking straight at the knuckle so I can verify it.

you coulda popped the outer tie rod end off to get more wiggle room LOL

Take the tie rod off then you probably can play lil bit to get in and have the bolt in lock up with nut and put it back tie rod.

I think your should be good to go tho.

We took the tie rod off and still had to beat the living crap out of it to get to go back, but it finally gave in.
