and btw, I went to see my older brother and his friends yesterday who are all car guys (camaro/mustang type guys) and they all thought it looked decent in person on my car. no one had anything bad to say. we all had a good laugh at what it is but in the end they all thought it looked good.

I think that it actually looks similar to a mustang chin on the G. On the maxima it looks decent, but not as flowing as with the G. I would like to see a version where someone takes their time and cuts the slits and then heats it to warp it a bit to the lines of the maxima. So far it seems everyone just cut and taped it on.

the slit cutting you are talking about would have to be on the visible part of the lip. the visible cuts would make it look worse. the heating wouldnt do anything cause once it cooled it would go back to its original shape. Or if you did heat it enough to deform it, it would be just that...deformed, saggy looking.

i actually thought about doing it, then decided not to b/c what do you think would happen when you scrape, for say going up a curb or a speed bump?

yeh, wouldn't be a pretty sight...

I highly doubt it would come off if you scraped it. 3M double sided automotive tape is very strong. plus if you scrap this, you are preventing damage that would have been done to the bumper. It hardly hangs any lower than the bumper.

also idk about you but I try to avoid driving up a curb

blackmax i think it looks pretty good.

i just dont see a reason to spend between $300 and 800 on a body kit for a daily driver car.

yea if you have a show car, putting a stillen or ID setup is fine, but for the regular maxima owner i think this is a decent addition for under 20 bux.

What's funny to me is not the people who are excited about new things that they do to their cars, it's the idiots that are trying to diss on the Home Depot lip idea. If Stealin (aka Stillen) was selling this lip for 250 bones, these same people would be on the bandwagon spending their last dollar on it.

i tried hard to get it even though its in the $5k range, but couldn't because impul discontinued it.

i could drop stillen/ionic/etc. kit money in the blink of an eye but i will not because they do not look good imo. same reason i wouldn't spend $.01 on this mod.

the point is not to just add something onto the car because you can, do it because it looks good. this definitely does not.

I guess it just goes to show that everybody has their individual style. Some people like some things and some people dont. Thats the first time I've seen that kit and its to plain for me. I guess if there were more choices out there for our cars 80% of them wouldnt look alike.

Congrats...I can afford a stillen kit also (which btw looks better than that pic you posted) but I dont have one because my driveway geometry doesnt agree with it.

I bought the 'strip of rubber' because it looks good and it is something that me and my driveway can agree on. I also dont consider my car 'kitted'

I didnt buy it cause im broke and cant afford anything better. Just because its cheap doesnt mean its a POS mod. Apparently you have too much money and have the mind set that if it isnt $$$ then its not worth anything.

Alot of people do this mod, not just us broke maxima owners. its popular with wrx's, mini's, g35's...

Personally, it seems like you are in this thread only to say how you are too good and rich for this mod cause you want to spend 5k on a kit and that those who do this must be completely broke and arent worth the internet's time...grow up. Everyone else who doesnt like it, said so and moved on.

just about every car on the .org is not my style but the well executed ones get props anyway. the difference between a well though out, well built car and a "i'll do what i can" car is painfuly obvious.

if you're driveway is too steep fix it. i'll sell you some air ride at cost just to see what your next excuse is.
lol sorry, air ride isnt my style. id rather cut my stock springs, its cheaper. oh ya, and ill just start taking a jack hammer to the driveway for the house I am renting during college.

BlackonBlack98 and black_maxed95, take it to OT before this thread gets locked. Whether you like it or not some people may want to do this mod, and no one can benefit if this thread closes.

Now, back on track....anyone else try this yet? I want to see more pictures.

i was trying to stay civil/ignore him but he keeps feeling the urge to make people feel like **** cause we arent doing $$$ VIP builds like him. He keeps telling everyone else what looks good and what doesnt when in reality, he is in the minority on this website. I dont trash talk his VIP style tho.

whether the kit was $10 or $100 I think it looks good. The only reason I am still in this thread is cause I feel I am the only one who contributed to it with pics besides the OP.

for some reason you seem to have thought the heavens were going to open up and light was going to shine down upon you for this mod. as soon as that didn't happen you started callin "hate".

now me personally, i will spend whatever i have to to make my car look good, but that is far from my point. the point is that sometimes its better todo nothing than to do something half-a**ed.

but all in all its your car. do what you want. just don't get pissy when you offer for opinions and don't hear what you want. with that i'm done.
There were plenty of people that said it didnt look good, you were the only one being an a$s about it. I wasnt looking for praise, I only posted pics cause people wanted to see it on a 95/6 and I was the only one to do that. I actually expected alot of criticism. I understand its not everyones style. But once again you say it was half a$sed. I take pride in my car and I dont half *** anything on it. Just because this mod was $10 doesnt mean it was half a$sed. The main reason I am responding to you so much is because you are making me sound like i cant afford to do anything nice with my car and I half a$s it all when you dont know me at all.

Wait, so is this stuff rubber or plastic? I could see how heating up the rubber wouldn't do much to help it fit. I was thinking it was plastic. The first time you hit a curb will the lip come off? How well does the double sided tape work?
