I'm Desperate, what is wrong with my dam car?

Make it easy to read, I have tried so much but haven't come up successful. I read similiar threads but still nothing. My windows and locks fail.
  • 95 gxe
  • front drivers side window and lock works
  • sun roof works
  • all other windows and locks DON'T work (no, window lock button isnt the problem)
  • keyless entry doesnt work either
  • I've checked every fuse and they seem alright
  • I looked at relays
  • I replaced BCM and plugged everything in right

What can be the problem? I am really desperate at this point and will try anything. plz help:)

It's possible that your wiring inside the door pannel is broken or grounding out. So .. to clarify - it's rear doors only, windows (both) and locks (both) ???? Some times if someone has used a slim jim on the door, it can pull the wires, cut them and cause them to ground out, or pull them apart at the plug. Not sure ... you might have to pull the door pannel apart and see.

Im sorry, I cant really help. But IIRC there was a thread, maybe even a sticky about this(or similar). Try searching. Might help. Good luck. ^ Also has a good idea, what may be your problem.

sry I just edited my post. Just my front drivers side window and lock works. The other 3 dont. The passengers door panel is already off. This all started when I was installing a head unit, guess I touched something but I was being very careful with wires.

I am on the road so don't have the FSM in front of me. The windows and doors are controlled by a bus. In each door is a micro-controller to control the functions in that door. The driver door issues a command thru this bus. Each door unit then act on this command from the driver door.

If your driver side works and other three doors don't work, the bus wire is broken, probably in the driver door or in the hinge area. Look it up in the FSM.

:sprint: .... good thinking!

These buses is in cars are used in effort to reduce weight and cost of copper in the car as the car got more complexed. The infotainment system is also on a bus now for the newer cars. The most popular one is called MOST and use optical fiber.

People say "you can't work on today's cars anymore" which is not true at all. We just need documentation such as FSMs.

no i havent but if they were broken, would the drivers side window still work?

JtzMax Sep 10, 2008 06:47 AM

yes ^^^ because a bus runs the controls for the other 3 doors. you have a master switch to control the drivers door. check for broken wires

You mean the IVMS system? Nope, all A32s.

Luigi38 Sep 10, 2008 08:21 PM

- Check every fuse 2 times, the ones inside cabin and in the motor
- check hidden relays, next to clutch (5sp) are a couple of hidden relays - get a haynes manual
- last option, take it to a nissan shop have this diagnosed for $100 ...not that bad for the time you are going to waste n get frustrated....amen
