I don't think my budget y pipe had anything that said the name.
To answer whether or not your y-pipe with come with gaskets, you'll have to ask the seller on the org. If you're buying new, then it probably would come with gaskets, but probably not with a used one.

It doesn't matter. make sure the seller guarantees that fitment is good and that the pipe doesn't give you the bees in the can noise. that's it. if it's used then you will have to ask the seller what it comes with; when I bought mine new from Budget it came with crush gaskets.

xkazik 08-08-2008 05:20 PM

the thing is he doesnt know . he got it with the car and it was never installed .he said there are some numbers on it but we cant figure out what brand it is .

99BlackMaxMS 08-08-2008 05:22 PM

Cattman stamps their y-pipe near the flange that bolts to the cat. I do not know about Warpspeed or Budget though.

BLACKonBLACK98 08-08-2008 05:25 PM

how bout pics? "him and i don't know" doesn't help one bit. budget is pretty simple to tell from the rest of the market and cattman would have been a dead giveaway.

warpspeed/ssac/ebay all look similar with no distinguishing marks that i know of.

xkazik 08-08-2008 05:27 PM

Ok thx guys im getting pix soon so i will post them .

hornepirate 08-08-2008 06:02 PM

do ebay Y pipes and the Warpspeed do the same thing? Is it just a matter of fittment?

WhiteA32 08-08-2008 06:03 PM

I'll be getting my WS Y on Wednesday, I can take pictures of it when I do.

4DRSpeed 08-08-2008 06:08 PM

Just make sure it fits well, they all do the same thing.

Is it a two-piece design? Could either be an eBay or Stillen.

xkazik 08-08-2008 06:21 PM

i posted the pictures on top so let me know what you guys think =) thank

WhiteA32 08-08-2008 06:39 PM

Judging from the pictures I think its a Budget

xkazik 08-08-2008 06:44 PM

looks a bit like this one 2

Nealoc187 08-08-2008 06:49 PM

looks just like my budget and i think it looks just like my warpspeed did back when i had it. that's definitely not a cattman.

the real question is, why does it matter? as long as it fits then who cares what brand it is?

yea you right , but since it was never on we both dont know how it fits or sound lmao . He cant find any bolts or gaskets , so im not even sure what i need to order from nissan dealer on top of that ,and an top of everything ,since i dont know what it is , i dont know how much its worth .

matts95max 08-08-2008 07:04 PM

just buy it but def dont buy anything from nissan, you can get those gaskets at autozone or something. And they are just 2 little crush rings that go in their slot in between where it bolts to both of the exhaust manifolds. if in fact its either budget or warpspeed I think a fair price is $150 since its not been on the car? I think you said he said that. You wont need bolts. use the ones from the exhaust manifolds

4DRSpeed 08-08-2008 07:09 PM

Looks like my Budget pipe.

z32drifter 08-08-2008 07:14 PM

Just get the gaskets and hardware, the Y-pipe is a worth while mod. You won't get much sound change using the stock exhaust. It's been so long since I installed mine I don't recall the type of hardware.

xkazik 08-08-2008 07:15 PM

when i was looking at the http://www.motorvate.ca/mvp.php/519 budget pipe i noticed that the bolt holes by the flex are more wider then the ones on the y pipe from the pictures i posted . idk if that matters or not but maybe its not a budget. sorry guys lol im just looking at a lot of pictures lmao

WhiteA32 08-08-2008 07:47 PM

The picture in the write up is the old budget styled piping... They were sprayed black.

I think along the way they changed the design up a little bit

hornepirate 08-08-2008 08:08 PM

while on the Y pipe subject...has anyone wrapped their Y pipe? if so, any noticeable difference?

BLACKonBLACK98 08-08-2008 08:15 PM

budget

I have wrapped mine, and no I haven't noticed any difference at all. Me being so low it ends up getting ripped apart. I'll probably go back and wrap it again but will only wrap the flex section.

xkazik 08-08-2008 08:19 PM

thanks everyone for helping me . i will buy the y pipe on sunday most likely .Now i just have to decide if i should even bother doing it alone .

hornepirate 08-08-2008 08:34 PM

did the wrap reduce the bee noise?

Most definitely. A y-pipe is the best bang for the buck mod out there for the Max.

xkazik 08-09-2008 12:49 AM

you think i should try installing it my self ?

a Jersey car? :noes:. You can give it a shot, but if you don't have any air tools you may very well end up doing a whole lot of cursing without getting much accomplished.

Hell yeah. Assuming you don't have any extremely rusted stubborn bolts, it's a piece of cake job. If you're still concerned, post up in your respective regional forum and ask for help.

Don't quote me on it, but here's what I think you need:

Jack
Jack stands
Breaker Bar
Ratchet
14mm deep socket
14mm wrench
extensions
knuckles
PB Blaster (to loosen the bolts, soak ahead of time:))
22mm wrench for O2 sensors

And don't forget to install new gaskets at all 3 locations.

It's been a while, so please correct me if I'm wrong on the sizes/add to the list fellas:D

He might also want a universal swivel. like the Wizard said its all about rust and removing bolts. You can get someone regional to help you (salt in Northeast=Rust) but if you wanna do it yourself you should let them bolts soak in PB blaster overnight

 My first Maxima was a Jersey car. I did mine without PB Blaster it was to say the least interesting. But lots of PB Blaster, cursing, and a little bit of elbow grease in the end you can get it done. Once you start bolting up the aftermarket pipe your really glad that the precats aren't in the way anymore.

Oh I also just found an old pic of my ypipe I took on my web host. It's a Budget.

Did my friends y pipe the other day. Under 30min to take old one out and install new one. Very simple, mine nor his had any issues with rust or anything like that. We both have 200,000 plus miles.

I guess you dont live in NJ lmao . I just looked under my car and those bolts look pretty bad .

hornepirate 08-09-2008 01:18 PM

My car has never left florida :) Rust doesn't exist on my baby !

my Y install should be easy

B_Eaze 08-09-2008 01:21 PM

yea, it looks like hell under there . between the different salts citys use and the drastic weather changes throughout the year, unless you have air tools from heaven then its not gonna be 30 min

xkazik 08-09-2008 01:27 PM

thats what it looks like =) hahaha

 looks kind of like how mine did. Except the steel braiding around my flex section was completely ripped off. One place wanted $150, I went to another place and they put it in for $100. So, be sure to shop around and don't take the first quote that you're given. It gave the guy hell to remove the stock one, but better them than me .
