EBay O2 sensors - any good?

I bought a pair of EBay sensors (L&R bank) at a price that had me thinking "wow what a farking rip-off the OEM ones are!"
Now, just 3000 miles later, the front bank has failed again with the usual knock sensor report as well. :(
Which i shall ignore as usual ... Lard knows how many Max owners replace perfectly fine knock sensors ... but, I would really like to know, have you used EBay oxy sensors and had a good result?

you can't make the statement that all ebay sensors are bad. it depends on the brand.

If you bought universal ones, first thing you should do is get under the car and check your splicing connections. Maybe water got in, a wire came loose, etc. To answer your question, though, I bought my universal sensors (bosch) from ebay and installed them about 2 years ago. No problems since. I was very meticulous in the splicing job and, in addition to the heat-shrink wrap, I also insulated the connections with electrical tape.

If your knock sensor is bad, more than likely you o2 sensors will go as well.......same as the opposite, if the knock sensor is bad the o2 sensors usually go. There are 2 screws on the intake manifold in front by the injector wiring that grounds the knock sensor...make sure these have a good connection. Read the faq.

From personal experience i can say that the universal crap does not work that great, purchased from ebay or not. There are o.e. spec o2 sensors for sale on ebay as well as knock sensors(i purchased the o.e. knock sensor from ebay, works great btw, cheap too.)

I bought a set of NTK oxygen sensor's from ebay. They have worked with no problem.

Same here

I bought 2 Bosch universals for the front and NTK NGK universal for the cat 2 years ago.
They are universal however they are for Nissan vehicles. Make sure it says "95-97 Maxima 02 sensor" in the listing.

Also if you drive on the highway for some time they will get hot and possibly be unclogged.

I would first tighten the screw on the knock sensor, reset the ecu and see what happens.
