About ECUs

I just got back from Nissan today if u remember i posted a thread about my CEL not working and sure enough they told me my ecu was bad and my car needs a new one. My gas mileage has been a little low but i honestly dont think the ECU is really bad.

http://forums.maxima.org/4th-generat...l-problem.html

But im going to replace the thing anyway and of course i want to upgrade, so with the mods i want to do in the future in mind (00VI/MEVI, exhaust etc.) What are my options as far as aftermarket ECUs, as well as what can each one do for me. thanks

since you have a high post count you might get lucky and not get flamed too much for not searching. look into jwt or technosquare (not reflashing maxes anymore iirc but used around).

Buy a regular ECU for now there one I saw for sale this morning...you can even buy 2...buy one that you send out and have the other in your car, that way you'll be up and running no matter what...it's your auto or 5spd having the problem?

think about emanage - better than a preprogrammed ecu in the long run.

G-Force used to also reflash the ECU like Technosquare, but I believe they are out of business and used G-Force ECU's seem to never pop up in the classifieds. JWT ECU's seem to never pop up in the classifieds anymore lately either, just the Technosquare's from time to time. I believe there's one for sale right now in the classifieds if you care.

As stated, there's always the more advance EMB, EMU route.

Are you opposed to not running an aftermarket ECU/piggyback and doing the tuning yourself with a AFC and a wideband?
