Re-wired foglights - corner lights / rear lights don't work

Hey everyone,

I re-wired the foglights to turn on with the corner lights, tested everything to make sure it worked, and it did. When I put everything back, I tested it again, and the corner lights and rear lights don't turn on, and the foglights don't either now. I used a voltometer to test if there was any current coming to the corner lights, and there is none. I checked all the fuses, and everything seems to be in tact. Can anyone help me out with this one?

Thanks,

Brian

Did you check all the fuses located under the hood and under the dash? How are you checking the fuses? Visually?

How did you do your rewire? What wires did you splice or cut? Where? Did you recheck your wiring?

Can you hear or feel the fog lamp relay click when you try and turn on the fog lamps?

Yep, when I set the lights on all the way, the foglights work.

I checked the electrical connections at the corner light, and it isn't getting any power to it. I do hear the relay working when I set the corner light switch on though.

I spliced into the wire in the relay box from the foglights into the positive wire on the corner light.

I forgot to mention, the passenger-side bulb was burned out, and I haven't had a chance to check the other ones, but even replacing the bulb, there's still no power going to it.

I can try but It's difficult to help someone when they have modified wiring because it is difficult to determine what they may have done. Maybe return everything to normal and start over?

What is the color of the wires that you cut or spliced? What exactly did you do?

My guess is you wired it improperly.

If it's a fuse it would be underdash fuse #5 (7.5 Amp) look at that closely. Or F66 underhood fuse #66 ( 15 amp).

Did you cut a red with blue stripe wire somewhere?

All I really did was tap the wire going from the relay for the foglights into the power wire of the corner light. I disconnected everything, but the corner/tail lights still don't work :(

So you have or haven't checked all of the fuses with a multimeter? You never answered that.

had this problem on christmas lol. Check all fuses with a testlight. Also the connections you made yourself.

Thanks for all you help everyone, I finally found the fuse that blew. I took a few of them out the first day it happened, but I didn't even notice the blown one until I tested them all with a test light.

Thanks!

use a 10amp if you rewired your corners to all be ON with parking lights.
