thats what i'm thinking too

I had the same problem you had with no codes. It turned out to be my MAF sensor bought a used one and now I don't have any problems.

1. make sure the engine is at normal operating temp
2. with car off, disconnect TPS
3. start car and rev a few times. Let the car idle.
4. adjust IACV black plastic screw to fine tune rpms. Alternatively, if rpms are way off, use the throttle plate screw first and then the IACV black screw.
5. Turn car off and reconnect TPS

did it cut off during starts? mine did it tonight. i was at a light and when it turned green i gave it gas and it cut off. so i started it back up and gave it gas and the rpms dropped to about 400 then i floored it and they didnt move. why would the MAF be going bad this much and not throw a code?

so i'm on the way to atlanta to get some parts for my car. i fill up before i leave and right outside of atlanta i look at my gas needle and i'm down to a half tank (trip at 101) WTF?!?!?!? and almost the whole trip there my car was smoking (black) and loosing power. gonna try another MAF and see if that changes anything. i also unplugged the MAF while the car was running and it didn't cut off; would that mean that its a good or bad MAF?

Mine was doing all of that including the bad gas mileage and it never threw a code. I got used one here on the Org for $40. It was definitely worth it.
