HID's on '95-'96

Has anyone done an HID conversion on a '95 or '96 without changing their headlights to the '97-'99's?? If so how is the beam pattern??

Albertt Nov 28, 2001 05:24 AM

I'm sure the beam pattern would be just as bad as it is on the '97-'99 models. nm

Blurry, but bright. It took A LOT of reaiming.

Reaiming is fine but do you like the HID's?? Do you still use your fog lights??

I love when people think they know everything and tell you to search. NOT EVERY QUESTION HAS ALREADY BEEN ANSWERED PEOPLE!!! Don't let the first words come out of your mouth to be SEARCH!

Bill, I would wait until the HID's can do both high and low beam.

medic-

whose 95/96 did you work on? do you think the 97-99 install of HIDs would require less reaiming?

clee130 Nov 30, 2001 10:13 AM

His own.

And would 97-99 require less reaiming? Eh, they still need to be reaimed. How long it take kinda depends on how good you are at reaming them.

isnt the only company that makes low/hi beam hids beloff so far? they're back up to around 1000 too as far as i've heard.

Sonic Nov 30, 2001 12:18 PM

The concept was that I wanted to get excellent light output and be able to see what most see on highbeam, while not blinding oncoming cars. To do this, my highbeams are aimed so that they are to the right(passenger side) and below where most headlights are.

Tired of looking around for bulbsss

OK!! I'm gonna get HID!!

How much do you think I should spend? I don't mind buying used one..
What do you all think of this one on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...591533&r=0&t=0

cheap? expensive?

What's the different between brand?? osram HID, philips HID, vision HID?
Which one is the best.....

check this too:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...558938&r=0&t=0

sounds like a good idea. did you ever think about swapping your 95/96 headlights with the 97-99? i thought I've read that the 97-99 work better with the HID kits. also that they look better. can anyone confirm?

From what i've seen......
I compared my friends Volvo C70 (glass head light) with aftermarket Philips HID and acura TL's HID (relfective head light).........

The volvo's HID is alot brighter..... but it doesn't look as nice... as TL's........Blurry........but very bright

The mercedes Benz also use glass head light HID, and I personally thing it's brighter than the one with reflection head light.....
The 95-96 use glass light and 97 above use reflection.

Projector Light works the best with HID... like BMW and Audi
