sHaDyOneDeath's Tokico Illumina Kit Installation thread

Will get lots of pictures tomorrow but a few questions first.

I need to know how far my struts will compress in order to measure/cut my shock boots. They're Rancho shock boots for about 3$ on amazon, great quality, rubber feels strong.

Some pictures of lengths.
Wonder how much play i have here..

Loose on the struts:

Secured to the bottom of the strut basehttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...h/DSC02999.jpg

Being there is no way to attach them to the top mount, don't cut anything. They will stand up on their own and compress plenty as the strut compresses. You will need to install a bump stop onto the strut piston. You can reuse the OEM stop if you still have the old dust boots, otherwise get new bumpers from your local auto parts store.

oh, there is a way to mount. Im using my OEM bump stops and zip tying them to it. I was just wondering how far down the piston goes because i know for sure these boots are too long.

Thanks

Your springs are installed upside down. Closer wound coils go up.
Paint your mud flaps body color.

Where are you placing the jackstands btw? You're supposed to place them on the frame rails in the front IIRC, as per the FSM.

Yea i know, that picture was taken in the day. At night, when i got back from work, i took on the rears and noticed they were upside down. I took the fronts off again once the rears where done and all is good now.

Looks pretty similar to an H&R drop.
