Never heard of anyone installing that particular tranny kit on a car. But if you're going to spend that amount of money, you should look into a level 10 transmission.

so..

well.. i dunno i am getting kinda skeptic about it though.. since i'm gutting the interior, i might as well, take the engine out too. because the car is gonna be repainted. it's gonna be "dipped" in paint.. so thats why i am looking to go ahead and overhaul as many things as i can on the car

ipt and level 10 are of the same caliber. my q45 tranny will most likely end up at ipt.

If your going to have your car "Dipped" in paint (not really sure what you mean here) then you should also consider acid dipping the entire shell with exceptions to anything plastic. Atleast then you could shave enough physical weight off to make up for the additional build up dipping your car in paint is going to leave.

my terms of dipping... since i still haven't caught on to american ebonics yet... is meaning, my car is gonna be a shell just painted with no windows in place.. that way, i don't have to tape off anything and just strip off old paint, strip the factory paint. then actually paint the whole body and have the paint stay rather than be another colorful layer ontop another paint job... so yeah..

but back to ipt..

A word of heads up to you guys that want to get the rebuild kit...

This would be the rebuild part number your looking for.

IPT Performance Transmission Rebuild Kit (RE4FO4A) $469 dollars.

OP: Seems like a lot of money, why not do a 6spd swap - would cost 1/2 as much and be 10x the fun!

I've heard good things about IPT, but no specific knowledge of them.

Level 10 though I know plenty of guys who have had HORRIBLE experiences with their transmissions. I would not do a level 10 trans if it were me.

Rather than spend a couple Gs on a built auto though, I'd look first in to what few things jime has done to his trans to make it last. I don't know the specifics but I know it's not much, and he has the quickest maxima in existence.
