99 and eibach springs

hi everyone

i just bought new eibach springs and want to install them .

but I wander if installing them on old shocks will harm them or not .

becouse the old springs are lowerd by heating . and I feal my max just like an old 88 caprice .

and what are the siutable shocks for eibach springs to have the best handelling .

and is the factory shocks good enough ?

Tokico Illumina + H&R is the best drop if you're looking for comfort and looks.

They're right. A search would have informed you that: Illuminas and H&Rs are the most common setup and have the best looks to comfort ratio and that you would blow your stock struts with Eibachs. You should put in lower aftermarket struts in, like Illuminas, Konis, etc.

I have had the Eibach springs and Koni Adjustables on my car for over 12K now.
I am very happy with the ride ect.
Explore all options.
I started with the Ground Control coil overs and had problems with bottoming out with the car in the rear with a full size spare and 12" sub and 3+ people in the car.
Not now.

Eibach Pro kit here wit Tokico Illumina struts. It's a little harsh for everday roads around here, but on smooth fresh pavement packaged with a good set of rubber, you can't go wrong. I echo what other say, don't install with OEM struts, you'll blow them.

Eibachs will blow the stock dampers pretty quick. They are one of the stiffer springs and stock dampers wont handle the higher spring rate. Since you heated up your springs, Im going to say the stock struts are already dead.

If you plan on keeping your car for a while and like comfort then the only route for dampers is Koni. Tirerack was blowing them out. Youd be an idiot not to buy them, they were about the same price as Illuminas (which are way over hyped). I highly recommend shortening the front inserts. Wheel travel is key as we dont have much.

Iluminas can suck it. AGX are worthless. HP and GR2 are only good for stock springs.

i second this. you should know that until june 30th tirerack.com has the konis are on sale for nearly the same price as KYB AGX!!! i just got a set today to replace my current AGX setup. My primary reason for this is not only the far superior quality or ride/performance/ and dampening characteristics. but you can also VERY easily modify them in the front to gain an extra inch of travel in the front (compensating for the inch you just lost by installing your eibachs).

the biggest difference between the konis and agxs are this (and we are talking about performance shocks so im going to write this under the assumption you dont mind a little bit harsher ride for the gain of handeling performance....heck you bought lowering springs w a stiffer spring :) so if anyone cares to comment on this lets not get in a girlie talk about how good your maxima rides lowered) :/

agx - dampening and rebound is adjusted simultaneously when u adjust it. the problem w this is that you either end up w a ride that is to soft or two harsh because the dampening (compression when you hit a bump) is increased equaling a rougher ride. the rear shocks are also much easier to adjust

koni - the adjustment is only for the rebound (movement of the wheel down) the dampening is set....a good thing, what it does is this. it is progressive dampening, if you hit a big *** bump it is soft...a smaller more precise movement like body roll or change in car direction the shock is firm.

most people on this form have not personally had experience with both AGX an konis I have...didnt matter how much i adjusted my agxs i could never get the ride comfortable...on the plus side handles great on the corners. bad side....both front shox are blown.... konis on the other hand, i can firm it to the highest setting (not that i would)...the ride stays the same around town, i LOVE it. secondly koni has a LIFETIME warranty on blown shocks so if i was in the same situation as my KYBs i could send them back and get them rebuilt/replaced. that alone is the deal breaker for myself on the AGXS....get konis

Cost me $530 w shipping! that is absurd for koni spot yellows! Call tirerack 888-541-1777, use extension 737. i cant remember the sales guys name but he is super knowledgeable will take care of you.

I already bought 1 pair of fronts a few weeks ago. At that time they were the only pair left. At these prices I may buy another set!!
