where do i put the iat sensor???

i'm about to put on my cone filter using a spectre maf adaptor. but where the heck do i put the intake air temp sensor without causin problems? i searched this but different ppl are saying different things so i'm confused. help!!

Mine is mounted on a bracket right beside the filter. It's been like that for years and I have never had an issue.

Because you can put it anywhere you want... Hell you can leave it on the rear header bank if you want... not smart but you could....

Mine is zip tied to a vacuum line.

(if anyone says anything about my couplers i will kiiiiiiillll you!)

gotta look reeeeel close.

As long as it's secured to something that's relatively the same temperature as your intake air then you're golden.

i finally got it in and i shoved the iat sensor inside the filter. i work great for now. my cel light is already on for my o2 sensor in my exhaust so if i get any codes for the iat sensor i wouldnt know. i kinda damaged the wire while trying to get it off the airbox but it still seems to be fine. took me about 2 hours. had to drill new holes in my maf adaptor and i had to go to NAPA to buy some nuts and a maf bolt. i just got done washing her and cleaning her up.

The IAT sensor does nothing for performance. Its just for diagnostics. Just stick it anywhere close to the filter.

^^ doesnt it help determine the a/f ratio? colder denser air more fuel hoter thiner air less fuel. isnt that why some people put resistors in them when its hot?

it has very little effect on performance...you wouldint even notice the difference.

Reinstall the stock intake funnel and mount it where its supposed to be. THe intake funnel will direct the flow of the incoming cold air onto the cone filter. Buy 2 heat sheilds and install those too. It will create a cold box for the filter. Thats my setup now and top notch.
