Clear rears from Courtesy. Has anyone seen them?..
#5
I don't think so.
I've never seen the ones from courtesy or nopi but most of them are all clear so make sure you ask. as far as price new ones that are red/clear go for $175-$200 maybe a little less but its around there
It very unlikely amd Almost impossbile to find rears (new or used) for $35 or $40 (clear or painted)
i think he meant clear front bumper corner cuz those go for that much.
If u need help finding the colored rears tell me and i'll find u the link to some1 who sells them.

The $35 ones on ebay are the front bumper lenses.
For clear rears, you can do it yourself. Goto http://www.maximadriver.com and look in the how2 section. I've heard of people buying the clear rears and then painting the upper half red. If you want to save some $$ then do it yourself, if you mess up then buy the clear rears. You won't be out much money.

Here's the deal....
Loren and Wicem have tried this. Here's my understanding:
For '95 & '96 you've got it made. Buy a painted set from Davidl7 for $175 if he ever gets his backorder in. Or order an all-clear set from Courtesy $179+shipping along with the red paint to paint the insert for the bottom half red. Your done.
For '97-'99 it's a PITA! No all-clear tails are available for these years so you must pull out the amber insert from the stock light, fabricate a new insert (out of the clear flourescent light cover material), paint it red and install. The light cover material is fragile when cut and breaks easily and often forcing you to start over.

One more option fellas
There is a guy that sells them pre-made for the 97-99 Max's as a matter of fact I just picked up a set less than a week ago. Anyone that was at the CT meet will remember the guy that makes them he was the one arguing with the cops. :-) But he seems dead up honest, and has not disappointed me in the quality and construcion of the lights. I am not sure what he is charging the general public for them so I will refrain from mentioning price. If you want more info e-mail me and I will let you know more about it.

The lights on http://www.cleartaillights.com I think are all clear. You have to be careful because, taillights are different for 95-96 and 97-99. Some companies don't mention this though.

the clears from courtesy and nopi look good. they look like factory but clear (they fit well)- finding the clear/red combo is going to be very hard to get. if you like that look its the way to go, their not the clears with the red sprayed on which looks just so-so and after some time they then to discolor.the red/clear combo is oem red. perfect match. you can order them for around 140 but you will be waiting for ever.

they're reasonably priced too, $150.

I'd be cautious about quality. I know that $179 is steep for some lousy tail lights but I'd rather pay that then $150 for a pair of rear-mounted goldfish bowls. Leakage is a reality with some of the cheap clear rears for Honda/Acura so I don't see why the same wouldn't be true for Maximas.
