gen 5 clutch in my gen4... My uncle doesn't recommend it.

He's a master tech. Eventho he follows the old school backyard mech ways. haha. He doesn't think putting in a Gen5 clutch is a good idea because it could cause premature wear on the TO bearing, Slave and Master cly... I believe he thinks the tube will swell up from the extra added pressure of the pressure plate. I mean what am I really getting with a gen 5 clutch other then just more pressure? I mean I don't race anymore and my car is 198k. lol Should I just go for the cheaper gen4 clutch? I think I don't want to run into extra issues and want my gen 4 to last its last remaining years. shes in good condition tho.

Is it cheaper? I got DAveB to quote $237 for Clutch,TO,Pilot and pressure shipped to Mass.

how much is the price difference? And I know you have heard by many ppl that the Gen5 clutch will be fine, but what really additional benefits to u get long term?

It will hold more HP. If your not modding your 4th gen and it's your daily driver, then by all means keep the stock clutch. They get well over 100K miles if driven properly.

If the mod bug has bit ya, do the 5th gen clutch, you've got nothing to lose, and really nothing to gain except bragging rights.

Aren't the parts your uncle mentioned the same on both cars? I don't see the rationale in that argument...they're both VQ clutches designed by Nissan. Maybe I'm missing something here?
