Cruise control

Cruise control stopped working out of nowhere. I want to say it was around the time I had my brakes replaced. What crazy is a friend of mine had a Infiniti Q45 and the same thing happened, his cruise control quit working. Any solution?

Were there any black plastic pieces in the driver floorboards? If so, there's a plastic nub under the steering wheel that needs to be replaced and it's not much at the dealership. Maybe 5-10 dollars and it just pops into place.

is your speedometer working? If it doesn't work, the cruise control wont work

This is probably the most likely cause.

The only thing is - the plastic "nub" is on the brake pedal, not the steering column. It operates a switch that cancels the cruise control when you step on the brake pedal.

Is this another potential penny fix situation?
Same type of fix for when the brake lights act up/stay on?

Penny fix is affordable.
