about converting 97 auto to full 5speed

well i have a automatic 97 maxima converted to 5 speed. i want to eliminate the auto engine harness. i just brought a 97 speed engine harness now so what other wiring or harnesses do i need to get that will bypass the neutral switch that i had to splice when i did the original conversion

yes the conversion was done that way but now i want to eliminate the part where i had to bypass the neutral switch. so i wanna throw a true 97 5speed harness in. but i kno that wont be enough cuz i still have the clutch pedal to worry about

OOHH, sorry. I read the first post wrong. I understand what you're saying now. but I don't know a whole lot about the 5 speed conversion. sorry.

i've read tht you dnt have to and i've seen guys who have had their 5spd swap for years now still using auto ecu.

thats true also.u can use an aut ecu but it doesnt always feel like a manual slowing down and sometimes taking off.not as smoothe

lol heard tht as well but from a camry 5spd owner . . .

so if you want the feel of the 5spd, quick shifts, with no delay, swap in the correct ecu

SWEET JESUS!! THIS THREAD IS FULL OF FAIL!!!

listen, you can use the auto ecu just fine but you will have codes, you can bypass that by taking out the auto trans computer, the ecu will not cause the car to drive sluggish, BECAUSE THERE IS NO TRANSMISSION!!! you guys really need to start reading the how to's and for thoes who have never done the swap, stop trying to coach others.

and u seriosuly need to trash someone elses thread cuz no one said anything about a car running sluggish and trust me there is no newb here. and who hasnt done a swap cuz i clearly have retardo. read and understnad wut the question of the thread is before spilling your bull****. a question was asked about a harness thats not in the how to's and no one asked for your off topic opinion
