thinking about replacing my cat..

some of you might have seen my other thread about my pops and crackles in my exhaust. I was wondering, since my car has 128k miles, should I replace the cat? I can kinda smell rotten egg smell after I turn my car off, but no codes yet.

if I do will my pops get louder? or quieter? they're fairly loud on deceleration about 1500 rpm but it seems they get some whsat quiet when the cat warms up. they're still audible from inside, but idk about outside.

I'm kinda new to this game, what would you guys recommend?

Magnaflow is the only way to go if u want an aftermarket cat. Or jus get OEM replacement if u got the cash.

Sounds and smells like replacement time to me. Might as well break out your wallet and replace it, no need to smell rotten eggs all day.

Go ahead and replace it

Are you sure there isn't an exhaust leak?

If not then go with a Bosal replacement. It's a direct bolt on, comes with new gaskets and has a SS body (I ceramic coated the flanges and the body just to be safe).

The pops should quiet down if the cat's your problem.

Just installed the magnaflow hi flow cat and WS y pipe....I also have a magnaflow muffler and has a nice deep growl to it now. Oh and it fixed my clogged cat problem.
