slammed on 22's, hmmmm
 

ok, so I've been on the org for a while now, done many maxima's but dont post much, if you guys can remember I had a 4th Gen SE 5 speed on 22's. loved the car, so much money spent into it with audio, video and wheels and brakes, then I started getting into the real aspect of our cars, the speed, had 95 a stock 3.0 on the bottle (75 shot), an 98 auto all stock, the 97 on 22's i previously mentioned, and now i have a 96 with a 99 front end conversion and its built 3.5 swap which is currently up for sale or trade. Now... I love 4th gens esp for a show concept. I'm looking to actually build another on 22's but this time possibly slam it as low as I can get it. pretty much a VIP look with out the VIP... this will be my wife's car.. but i want her to be happy and comfortable.. I'm looking to see if this has been done before, i really dont care what you guys think about the build, its my money i'm doing what I want. thanks in advance

I have no help to offer, but have you considered an I30 for this type of build? I think it would be better suited.

Theres a guy on the forum with an I30 on 22's, candy apple paint, and slammed on air suspension.. It looks sweet, ill try to find pics

There was a flat black one slammed on 22s with airbags. It looked sick to me.

Anything is possiable just depends how people pull it off

Of course its possible, I test fitted some 22" drags on my old 5thgen that was dropped on maxspeeds (1.5") and they fit with rubberband tires but it would have required work to fix all the rubbing issues and that was a mild drop, I ended up going with 20s instead but honestly it wasn't comfortable at all especially for a DD. I'm against small tires now, I've gone from a "big rim guy" to 17s and 18s on some meaty tires for both performance and comfort.

For a wife's car, slammed low on 22's...and comfortable..I don't think it's possible.

Really, does your wife want to drive a car like you're talking about? Would it make her, as you mention, 'happy'?

this is going to be HER show car, she wants to do shows now and get into the car scene and I asked her everything she wanted to do as far as picking her vehicle and build she wanted to do, my show car happens to be my truck, 01 blazer 4 door was on 26's soon to be 28's, 8 kicker cvx 12's for kinetic batterys, 8 amps, blah blah blah... she wants a maxima because she loved my green one that I sold for a great profit... I never even considered the i30 but now i'm going to look into it, does anyone have any pictures of the black maxima on 22's?

ehhhh slamming on 22s??? Gonna have to cut out the wheel-wells and reweld them if you TRULY want to slam them.....

i plan on doing cutting welding, and fender rolling if she really wants this..

Search, "radius the fenders" in Google and you will see exactly what u have to do. I'll see if I can find those pics.

These fenders aren't radiused but if you wanna lay the body on the ground you will have to on 22s.

^^^ i love how he sits, is there a write up on his build and more pics? are those lines for an air compressor in the rear bumper... i'd love to see interior pics

If you are wanting the VIP look my vote goes to the i30 as well.

It's probably more work then it's worth. 22" is a lot on a Max. drop it, put it on 19" or 20" and it'll look fresh.

Be careful if you decide to lower it on 22's.I have the 6thgen,with 22x8.5 lowered 0.5 and it has been folded and I put rubber bushings in the spring to give it a little lift.With nobody in the rear I have no rub,but when there is I get some rub when I go over hump and when I go in a sink and the weight drops the car.

The other car you see is on bags,meaning that's not how low he drives.Obviously he raises the car when in motion because if he doesn't the weight will cause to car to rub especially if there is extra weight.

Its a lot of shaving,rolling,and back-tracking especially if you have a system that will make the car even more heavier.Right rims,offset,rolling,and getting the right springs.If you intend to go as low as you can go with the coilovers,that way you can adjust the height accordingly.If you go with a straight drop and it's too low then you'll have you work cut out.

I did 0.5 in the rear and 1.5 in the front and I have no space for extra load.Here is a pic

looks damn good man, I though about air bags, but my gut is pushing me to coilovers, I say that because they can be adjusted for show and travel, and with the system i plan for her, (2 fi audio btl's 2 clarion 2k watt amps 2 kinetic battery's and a **** load of 0 gauge) its going to be heavy back there ..

Exactly man.I'm assuming you'll have 2 12"subs,2 amps,battery,probably a capacitor and speaker box and you might at some point have passengers,that=weight.Your car will be dragging and your tires will be cutting.

With the system you'll either have to raise the car to compensate for the weight or be on airbags to adjust it when driving and lower it when you're parked.A little heads up if you decide to paint the car roll the fenders before because the paint will always crack when you roll it,and like me I painted my car then rolled it.Cost me an extra $400 to sand and repaint the both entire 1/4 panels :facepalm:

thanks man.. but I've rolled my fenders on other cars before and FYI a littler secret I learned from my uncles who own a GREAT body shop in detroit... heat gun to the fender before you roll them and no cracking.. :D
