drive axle ?????

when i was pulling my motor 2day i pulled my drive axle(that went to the passengert tire) out of the transmission it popped right back in but it leaked all my tranny fluid before i got a chance put it back together but i was wondering if i did any serious damage to the transmission before i put the new motor in

shouldnt have unless it jarred something when it fell out and bent the gear teeth

it didnt have any teeth on it that i could unless there on the inside of the shaft
