Anyone else have a rough ride with tokico hp's?

I had Eibach pro-kit lowering spring and Tokico HP shocks and struts installed. The ride was horrible. I had stock springs put back in and ride got better but not as good as stock. Mechanic said the Tokicos give a very harsh ride. Anyone have similar experience?

How long did you ride the Tokicos with the pro kit?

I had the lowering springs in for about 10k miles and then put the stock springs back in but left the Tokico HP shocks and struts.

Why would you go with an Eibach spring if you were looking for comfort? If comfort is what you want then go get some Monroe struts that are designed for comfort. Tokico made the OEM struts Im just not sure what model they would equate to today.

I currently have kyb gr2's with the eibach pro kit springs and the ride is great. I got the car with them on. previous owner on nyc was telling me that they were h and r's. After getting home and jacking the car up, to do a better inspection of them, and it turns out they are eibach's all the way around with kyb gr2's. tein h techs soon to come or even better coilovers!!

I was running blues with h&r sports for about 7500 miles and I too switched back to stock SE springs. I also feel like the ride is too stiff...and maybe worse than it was with the h&r springs.

I'll gladly take anyones uncomfortable springs and shocks off their hands for the low price of free...and in return, you can have my comfortable stock set up. Any takers??:gotme:

Seems like a bargain to me.

The car should ride smooth with the HP's their the softest strut/shock available for the 4th gen. What wheel tire combo do you have on the car? What is the condition of the front end components? Was the alignment reset after the work was done?

This is odd had blues and Eibachs ride was good and way better than stock, maybe since 4thhe gens and im 5th, but ride is too stiff nah, now on BC's major difference...stay stock for comfort......:D

The car had an alignment done afterwards and again just recently. I have 129k miles on the car, but I stay on top of maintenance and any of my mechanics suggested repairs. I am going to change the tires out in the next few months. Thinking of going with the Continental Extreme Contact DSW 16" tires. I just think I should have gone with kyb shocks and struts.

I do have a strut tower brace too, but I don't think it is harshly affecting the ride. Unless I am wrong...

The only other thing my mechanic told me was that I need to replace worn sway bar bushings 120 parts and labor.

Silly question perhaps: what tire pressure do you set your tires at?

Fair enough. The rough ride is not due to over-inflated tires then.

I used to have tokico blues and H&Rs on my Maxima. The ride was definitely more firm than stock SE.

I have an I30t now, pretty much a Max SE. Still has OEM suspension. Very soft initially, but when you start to play hard the suspension buttons down.

I dont think any aftermarket suspension setup duplicates that if that's what you like.
