PR CAI & WSP Y-Pipe, what's next?
 

What is another good "bang for your buck" mod? I have read that aftermarket catback with Y-pipe will increase the sound greatly which I do not want. The sound is nice now considering the HP gains I just got with the CAI and Y-Pipe. Does exhaust add that much HP for $450+. Thanks for your suggestions:confused:

Question: Did you notice a decrease in noise when you put in your Y-pipe ? Some people think that the Y will make your CAI sound softer :gotme:

I am not sure of your question, I installed the Y-Pipe before the CAI. The Y-pipe was a little louder over my stock Y-pipe. Overall, I am pleased with the sound and performance of both. It has got me wanting more, I just don't want to pay $450+ for like 4-5 HP. Will exhaust add 7-8 HP, if so I will buy one? Although, I am a little concerned about the increased sound.

No, the exhaust on the maxi isn't too restrictive. A catback will proly add about 7-8HP, but I don't know if that much goes to the wheels. I am getting a custom dual exhaust for the look and low rumble.

Are you auto or manual ? You should invest in a cheep shift kit if you are auto, or a short throw shifter if you are manual.

who makes a cheap shift kit? Also how much more wear is that on the tranny?

Trans-Go makes em cheep, ive seen them sold here on the .org for as cheep as $30. All these shift kits actually INCREASE the life of your tranny. It replaces some springs and whatnot in your tranny causing it to shift faster, thus putting less wear and tear on it. Makes you faster and lengthens your tranny life.

How hard or costly is the install?

Hard. Go to your local AAMCO transmissions and they sell them and will install them. I Think the guy quoted me $170 (for the kit/labor/install)
