Troubled max

98 maxima has trouble starting and when does it sputters an smells of raw gas?
Can anyone help??

Oh yeah engine light doesn't come on , even before start-up.

The CEL bulb must be out. Get the code(s) and report back.

Good grief man... Lets start with P0100 which is the MAF sensor and P0302 which is a misfire in cylinder 2. Inspect the ignition coil and check the spark plug. If the plugs haven't been replaced, replace all 6 and clean out MAF. The things these 4th gens go through I tell ya..

O.K I did check the coil and no spark so 1 problem solved, get back to ya on the MAF..Thanks 4 your help

Reset Codes?

Maybe you already did so, but did you reset the ECU and then see what you have left?
Hopefully you'll come up with just a hand full to troubleshoot instead of a basket full.
Just start the engine - go nowhere - and turn it off and see what codes show up.

How do you reset ecu? dont have obd2 scanner is there any other way?

WOW! Replaced coil pack on cylinder 2 and pow it runs great again! Best 100 bucks spent.
