Dose anyone know where this goes

My today my radiator was leaking (time of a new radiator:eek:) . So to find the leak I took the factory cold air intake off and I found this plug resting near the transmission. I think it might have something to do with the transmission .
Thanks sorry Phone pics :o Attachment 62570 Attachment 62571 |
any odd shift behavior recently? what color is that connector? Could be for the revolution sensor
doesnt look like it goes very far.
I have that connector hanging loose also. I don't know what it is for, but the car runs fine. I zip tied it to the harness so it doesn't flap around. If you look at the op's photos, based on the dirt on it, that connector has not been connected for a long time.
hmmmm I will have to investigate this. Possibly I removed mine.
I can't quite tell where your at, but could it be the electronic front motor mount plug? Not all cars have it and these maxima's have a reputation of having wiring included in the harness that's not necessarily used on that particular vehicle
On the 3rd gen there is a plug like this hanging not connected to anything. I think its normal but not 100% sure.
Thats suppose to be plugged into the antenna motor
if the op has a 99 gle (as his sig identifies), then he should have the electronic front motor mount, so it shouldn't be that. with the location he specifies, my guess is abs actuator; does the op have abs brakes or not?
Wow thanks for all the replies .Yes it is 99 gle the location is under the factory cold air intake a few inches from the battery. The color of the plug is brownish . I think I have abs (abs light when key in Acc) and the car shifts hard when I accelerate faster than normal it will get to 3-4k rpm but its Been like that seance I got It 3 years a go . Also the accelerator peddle has been hard to push when the I am at a light could this be also related to that plug or is it cuz it's getting cold . Thanks for all the help.
That plug is not causing the accelerator problem. The accelerator uses a cable between the pedal and the throttle body, strictly mechanical, no electrical things involved. Check the cable that it is not kinked. Disconnect it from the throttle body and see if the pedal is still hard to press. If it is, the cable needs to needs lubricated or replaced.
