Headlight Guru's, foglight within headlight housing question.

So, a delightful thought has popped into my head upon closer inspection of these headlights. Is there a way to get a foglight to sit in this headlight? There seems to be a spot for it.

Is this what this little opening is for? Or is it for something else?

Japanese cars in Japan have city lights which arent exactly DRL's. City lights are meant to illuminate the headlight housing without projecting a beam of light. Its so that you don't blind the driver or people in the city, but they are still aware of you.

City lights are very low wattage bulbs that come on with the parking lights. You see them on a lot of Euro cars e.g. BMW, Saab, etc when they have just the parking lights on. Visible only in the evening.

DRL's are usually full or close to full power headlights that help your car to show up from a great distance. Some cars include the other normal nighttime lights on, some just have the headlights on and everything else off. Used on many US cars today. Required in Canada on all cars.
