Megasquirt PNP Standalone ECU - ORDER THREAD -
#122
If they can make a test version ECU that starts and runs the car, that's most of the battle. If they want to drive the car and still don't have a working TCU emulator, then I'll send them a manual shift controller that connects to the automatic's solenoids so that the forward gears can be controlled. The existing shift lever controls Park, Neutral, Reverse, and when put into any forward gear, my 4-wire switch controller will handle that. I do this for dyno testing, so this isn't new. That's 99% simpler than any other way I see to get a MS design project underway than anything else mentioned here.

Sounds good to me... Book that return flight. Getting the engine to run on the MS3 should be top priority at this point. In the end the 99 guys can get a patch harness from Darren and maybe Harold could build up some more of his tranny controllers for the autos....

That was my point - but if we don't have enough people interested in buying, will MS still do this? It ain't cheap, but it beats rewiring your car and replacing the steering column to use a $2K+ 350Z PnP Haltech ECU.... at least it is to me.
Right now I'm busy building another nitrous package for the Shark that takes a new approach to direct-port. I'm gonna call it direct-plenum - with six nozzles. But, I'm not building stuff for others - way too much time involved. Be happy to share all the details for those who want to build stuff.

But seriously, I wasn't aware this thread existed. Lol!
Can MS use my car for the ALL of the programming? If so, I'll just bond with the bandwagon in my sig for a couple of days.
Let's get this rolling shall we?
Shameless plug:
Anyone have a Black 98-99 center console w/ manual shifter piece they want to donate \ sell to me? PM me to keep this OT.

I wasn't aware that we were cancelling this project.
Aaron and I are planning to go to GA in a month. The reason a month from now is because I'm stuck in the middle of a major IT migration at both of my company sites.

Everyone was just reacting to the thread being ignored for a few days.
If your down, I'm sure a few people with 2k spare are still in.

It's still extremely disappointing to hear what people's reactions have been like though, do people realize that...
1. Someone is donating their car
2. I'm taking a weekend off of doing work on other cars, aka losing out on money I can make.
3. I'm using an airline ticket I was saving for some sort of vacation since I paid for a trip I never got to go on.
In my honest opinion, if you have the money it's easy to donate it, but time on the other hand is one thing we're all limited on.
I am NOT saying donating hundreds of dollars to see this go through is a small feat, it is a LARGE contribution towards this, all I'm saying is taking the time to do all of this is the real struggle and if you guys are willing to jump ship THAT quickly then I'm not so sure if I even want to support a bunch of people who's opinion can easily be changed in less the amount of time it'd take to complete the task.

Still trying to get a day off from work.
We're switching locations and short an employee, so I have to do two jobs and deal with the mess of our inventory being @ one place but computers at another.
As soon as the dust settles @ work I should be able to take a friday off then go on this trip!

Annnd I have some bad news for the Megasquirt PNP fans, but AMAZING/EPIC/GAME CHANGING news for 4th gen owners.
I am backing out of my involvement for this project.
I am sure once I inform flipcapt45 he won't be as interested any more either, but he may be willing to donate the car, but I am no longer willing to donate my time, and airfare to this project.
Something else came up.
(If you stay tuned on these forums you'll know why/what the game changer is).
Sorry guys!!
