Ring style. I think 5" or 6 inches. Does anyone know where I can get these for way less than $100? I was cleaning mine and I cleaned it with a little harsh water and it blew it out basically.

IT is really old tho and it came with my Maxi 8 years ago. So I have no idea where the guy before me bought it.

I can get measurements but I just want a general idea on where to get them. I checked K&N and Stillen and they list for $130 lol. I mean come on.

Should I just get a knock off one than? I don't think it really matters anymore. Shes got 240k miles on her lol

I've been using the knockoff one which came with the cai tubing for a year now, while I'd say the quality isn't exceptional, it does it's job. Like you, I can't justify paying $100+ I need the extra cash for all the parts that have started to breakdown @ 190k. I'd wait for a killer deal in the classifieds.

Amsoil makes awesome and affordable replacements that are washable and don't use that stupid k&n oil type crap.
I swapped out my Popcharger oiled cone filter for one for around $60 iirc.

How is Amsoil better?

K&N only you know is used in just about every world class sports car and engines in the world as well as boats, but hey. What do they know. It is only the most popular and wanted Filter out there. Is it the best? Maybe not for every application but is it the most recognizable and longest lasting? Hell yes. Where some use paper these guys still use cotton and actually encourage you to clean their filters instead of telling you to buy new ones.

I never said better.

If anything they are about equal, but I don't recommend oiled filters due to the potential of shorting out a MAF if it was over oiled from the manufacturer, or by the owner after cleaning.

Amsoil is reusable/cleanable with no oil and lots of sizes to choose from.

There is also an Amsoil dealer here on the org that gives great discounts.

K&N sponsors a lot of racing vehicles to help them advertise.
Looks like it worked.

Either way, it looks like your happy, so that's that.

You don't HAVE to use the oil tho. I don't plan on using it

Well then..make sure you clean it because all K&N air filters come pre-oiled.
