Hesitating around 3500 RPMs?

Hey guys. So I just got a full tank of gas Friday night and right after I filled the tank, I was driving and I decided to mess around a bit with a friend of mine. As soon as I got past 3500 RPM, the car felt like it was missing a cylinder. It was just choking. Any idea what may be going on? The car didn't throw any codes and it still hasn't. The only codes I have in there are codes that were already there for the EGRC solenoid and MAP sensor.

EDIT: It also does it if I'm in third gear around 20 and I give it a bit of gas. I'm thinking fuel filter but I wanna get someone else's opinion.

Well I'd have to agree with you. Fuel filter would be a good place to start.

Yeah. I already have a full tune up ready to go for it. Oil change, spark plugs, and a fuel filter. I just have to find time this week to do it.

I was hoping it wouldn't be MAF, but that's what I'm leaning toward. I'm gonna do the tune up I have and see if that fixes it. If not, I'll use my friend's intake and see if his MAF fixes it. If it does, then I'll get a new MAF

Everything you just stated are events where the ignition timing is the most aggressive.

I throw my chips in on ignition failure (Coil or spark plugs)

Or chitty gas.

If you think it's the maf, un plug it, try some high load acceleration... Meaning accelerating from a low speed, high gear w/ as many of accessories on as possible (heavy load)... The try to accelerate w/ 3rd gear @ 20mph or 4th gear @ 25mph.... Still misfires then viola... It's not your maf.

Then I'll give this a shot. If that's the case, I'm assuming bad gas.
