i hit a tire on the way to work and now i see a wire hanging down by the oil filter...any idea what this does and where it goes?.... also my gas gauge and temp gauge work when they want to does anyone have a fix for this or does anyone here repair gauge clusters?.... car has 183k runs pretty good CEL is on for Knock Sensor And EGR Valve (im assuming the tube is clogged) any tips tricks or pointers for fixing all of this?.. I might have someone do the work I dont have access to any tools.. thanks

The wire hanging down could be either the oil pressure sensor if it is to the rear of the car from the oil filter or the crankshaft position sensor CKPS(REF) if towards the front of the car from the oil filter.

Your dash gauge problems could be dirty cable connections on the back of the cluster. Take out the instrument cluster and disconnect the 3 ribbon cables and re-connect them several times.

Don't buy a knock sensor just yet. Get the egr fixed and clear the codes. There is a good probability that the knock sensor code is a false code. If the P0325 comes back, then replace the knock sensor.

I'd throw in a new ks, they're so cheap. When I replaced mine I felt the difference. If you clean the EGR make sure you save the gaskets or get new ones. My dumbass didn't even see it fall and put the pipe back on without one of the gaskets. It probably won't do anything besides a CEL but it was a facepalm after all that work

I have to clean out my EGR tube too. I'm planning on following this: http://forums.maxima.org/4th-generat...ing-p0400.html.

Of course, you'll have some difficulty without tools ...
