Brake help!

Hey guys ive been having lots of brake troubles with my 99 maxima, ive been experiencing almost like a rubbing or grinding sound that is very noticible and slightly felt through the pedal. The sound is only whn im about 10 ft or so to coming to a stop. The sound comes from the passenger side front wheel. It only happens when its dry out, when wet from rain/ snow theres nothing. And the brakes have to be heated up to notice. I have power stop cross drilled rotors & ceramic pads put on about 3 months ago pads and rotors are in perfect shape and ive regreased the sliders, changed the caliper hard wear changed the shims, put anti squeel where the pad has contact with the caliper. And i still get the dam sound! Help would be greatly appreciated

If this is the first time you've had drilled/slotted rotors, they are a bit noisy.

If you are sure everything is tight, shims are in, then you should be fine if all the rotors are in good shape.

What did the dust shields look like behind the rotors? Mine were completely rotted and were ever so slightly rubbing against the back of the rotors. Needless to say, there's not much left to them after I trimmed all the rot off and the rubbing noise is gone.

the dust shield is perfectly fine looks new, i also get a very weird squealling sound when coming to a stop only when applying brakes and right when it comes to a stop, not any where near a regular brake squeal or screech

FWIW I've had bad wheel bearings with a 'metal-on-metal' brake grinding noise before, generally only on decel. I exhausted all other options then replaced the bearing as a last resort, and found the hub to be trashed as well.

No play or other symptoms, just the noise on decel only.

I have new bearings, axels, tirods, struts everything. Ill deffinetly check the hubs though god knows what those look like. Any idea on how much it might cost to get a hub.. If not to pricey i would want to do both sides. Thanks

It is your caliper malfunctioning. I have this issue right now when you apply brakes and almost come to a stop, you hear kind of a dragging noise from one side. Compare the pad wear on both sides and you will see.

Found my culprit, was my pads. They were cheap material. They were corroding and had strange wear marks on them. Went to autozone got some duralast ceramic pads with some anti squeel grease sound is all gone
