Idle control valve

95 was having trouble starting and exhibited a rough idle. The code came back as a P0505 which is the idle control valve. The shop says the part is $350 and labor about $100.

I tried searching on Courtesy Nissan to see if the part was cheaper there, but I can't find this part.

Can someone help me find it?

I wanna check as this confusion has happened before

this is a "P"0505 via the ODB2, not a "0505" from the Check Engine light correct? The 0505 is an "All Clear" or no codes available in the system.

Check the classified section here. Part can be had for under 50 and is only 3 nuts and 1 electrical connector. A 10 min job at best to replace.

Just to make sure, is this the right part?

Correct. The mechanic checked the codes off of the ODB2 reader.

Before you go replacing it I would highly recommend a good cleaning, the iacv can get a bit of buildup on it. I had good results using crc throttle body cleaner on mine.
