Losing Coolant recently when it's cold outside
Hey peeps. I noticed that the other day the radiator fluid was a bit low, so I topped it off and thought nothing of it. That was about 4 days ago. Now when I drove to work (-2 degrees) and went inside, I came back out to the parking lot to check the coolant again, and it the reservoir was almost empty again...I did tighten the lower radiator hose where it connects to the radiator and my oil isn't frothy or milky when I checked the cap and dipstick. I don't see any leaks. I'm not overheating. It's very cold out so everyone has lots of white smoke coming out their exhaust so i can't compare but the exhaust isn't sweet smelling either. Any help would be great thanks guys.

when it's cold out the coolant recedes into the rad and block more, it's not a problem. mine does it too.

Yea, I also just found that where my POS autozone thermostat is, there's coolant sprayed around the engine bay LOL I guess either the hose isn't tight enough or the ts isn't opening. Leaning towards hose not tigh enough though.

Replace the thermostat with OEM while your down there. :wall:

autozone stuff is lifetime warrantied junk lol. oreilly if you're on a budget or if you can afford it dealership is best.

Things shrivel up when its cold outside. Check all your house clamps. My top rad hose was leaking at the rad last week.
