Any of you with an alarm system on your max, was their any problem with install? I heard that there's a relay problem and that when u try to lock your doors with an aftermarket alarms remote sometimes it locks and sometimes it doesn't or there's a long delay. If you got your system installed where was it install, and how much and how long did it take. I want to get a quality install done, not one of those 20 minute circuit city jobs...

I have a vipor 550(I think). Anyway, it starts the car, rolls down all four windows, and rolls them up when you lock the doors and arm the car. Circuit City did the job, but it took a lot longer than 30 minutes. Cost about $650 though. Had insurance money to spend, so I did.

I have an aftermarket alarm installed, no prob. I just use my Nissan remote to lock/unlock/roll down window/open trunk, and I use my alarm remote to set the alarm.

I have a clifford 700IQ on my max. The door locks are a double puls relay, so when you unlock them it takes like an extra 2 secounds to unlock. Other than that there should be no problem installing an alarm. The price to install it was around $100.00, at a local shop called Autosound. I know the guys up there so they gave me a deal, and I already had the alarm. My2cents

I worked at Circuit City before and I installed a Viper 550HF alarm with remote start on my 5 speed. I don't know which CC you reffer to, but the best installer took 2 hours to install it. Yeah, when disarming/opening door, it takes 2 seconds to actually unlock. I don't mind, since it is a high frequency system, you can open it and start the car from far, far away.

I have a DEI system that works really well. The Maxima requires a special interface to be installed for an aftermarket security system. The car's ECU controls the power features, which can't be over-ridden. So the interface allows the security system brain to communicate to the ECU what it wants to be done, and the ECU does it.

i have alpine 8081 with digital two way comunication between my remoute and car and 2000 model of proximity sensor and it took pro guys about 2.5 days to instal it in my max so now alpine works together with nisan's alarm - i like it very much .

I have the 550HF and my range is horrible, i have new batteries too.
I use 2 remotes though. THe nissan and the viper.
My 550HF is like 5-6 years old.
I want to add remote start and use only one remote though

You should move your antenna to behind the rear view mirror under the roof carpet... I did and it helped.

I have an XCaliber1600 Security System. When I first got it installed the power doors and power windows would sometimes get stuck ( a few times when it was raining the windows wouldn't roll up). Also, the place wanted to charge me an extra 100 bucks to get all the doors to unlock. Anyway, i went back to boomer mcCloud's and they fixed it, and i haven't had a problem since. i'm not sure what the problem was, i forgot exactly what they said.

Besides having the chip in the key (Fuel pump kill), I have a Clifford (aka DEI now) Concept 300. That is a 2 point killer, ignition and starter. Its a 3 point killer with the chip in the key. If you want an alarms, save yourself the grief form going to a Circuit City or a Wiz or a 6th Ave install. My alarm install took 6 hours to install (I worked at the shop at the time). I have delays on my locks too. I havent had a problem unless i pull the lever at the same time the alarm unlocks it. THen the thing go freakin crazy.
