These New 97 Clear taillights

Sorry for the sloppy photos, but as long as u can see them thats all it matters right? lol wont do it next time tho >.>

Is it me or do these 97 taillights look sooo good? I heard they're new(could be wrong). these lights are sure to update the look of an aging 4DSC. I would buy these for the updated look. what u think?

Im in a process of doin a 97 rear swap, I have a white pearl already, and if i were to buy the taillights, it would look like the picture above.. I really like it, looks more updated. In my opinion.

My current maxima:

Pretty sure these have been around for quite a long time. There is also a smoked variation if you prefer that. Only possible difference i could see is the pricing, normally the ebay garden variety isnt exactly cheap.

ooh, Well on the website it said they came 2years ago, guess it was wrong. but heck they look hella nice.

Shopping around for taillights for 97, These clears I posted defiantly got my attention. they look nice on the pearl white.

im not looking much to upgrade my maxi, Im Just making it look Nicer than stock.which costs a couple grand. I Aim for making the car last for as long as it can. while making it looking nice by simple upgrades. I still got damage to lower driver side quarter panel between bumper and tires (bought it like that), so i gotta get money out of my pocket to repair that. once repaired, it will be dent free

Clean and simple if u say. Like the picture.. Has stock rims but has better looking taillights, making it better than stock. Just the little things that make it better.

lol why? if u can see it, same thing. I can also fit in more pictures in one link, which is why I like it and also very easy to link. I crop out the pictures, I make it sloppy but as long as ya can see it, why does it matter lol.

I like those! What was the pricing on them? Are the lenses plastic or glass?

it looks sloppy and cheap. photo bucket is easy, download, edit, w/e you want to do and it does'nt look like romper-room pictures.

Pretty sure they can be found by simply googling "99 maxima clear tails" or any similar variation.

Didn't someone say that they came in a "smoked" version too? If so those wouldn't look as shiny. Pluses they would become less shiny with age would they not?

Me no findie the crystal clears.

Spent about 35 minutes. No luck on the crystal clears.

Lots of red/clear and red/smoked in 2 pc. and 4 pc. sets but no crystal clears.

I honestly like them (in the photos anyway) and would like to see a set in person.

They were mentioned a little while ago on vqpower.com: http://www.vqpower.com/v3/content/ne...ed-tail-lights

But again, my searches came up empty.

You can't get a ticket if you dont' get caught

That pic was old anyhow, and previously covered. It was just the best I had to illustrate the gorgeous tails I've got

i want your tails but 95-96 version... i was thinking of getting the sparkly clears (cause they're everywhere and so cheap) and giving them a 1 layer of generous smoke to tone down the jewelness lol. the sparkly clears look decent on lighter coloured cars but looks cheesy and a tad ricey on dark colours imo

I like them both. What is your guys opinion on simply modifying you existing stock tail lights...do they look good, or do they look "ghetto"?
Low budget makes me go cheaper routes, lol

I don't care for the style in the original post. I don't want to be able to look in and see the bulb(s). I'm gonna pull a Maxride41 here and show a picture of what I prefer...KEVLO LED's in Red/Clears with my very own custom way of having smoked turn signals and reverse
(super old pic with previous wheels)

the reason those are so pricy is it's custom. He designed the entire setup himself, and I believe he installs each individual LED himself as well. They are insanely beautiful, but you gotta pay to play

Really like the carbon fiber trunk, the lights go well too, how much did that cost ya? I heard carbon fiber is hella expensive but looks very nice with the right setup

lol not necessarily, its just asking for a price and knowing what price im looking at. I like to know how much things are to make a decision if i want them or not. or save up to get them.

lol im starting to realize that 96 to 97 rear swap by trunk alone can almost cost nearly the price of carbon fiber trunk. if ya think about it adds up... Junkyard trunk they probably go 150-200 for trunk.. then gotta repaint/change color to white pearl.. another 200-300.. so thats already 500 nearly, while carbon fiber is 550-650$ and its all set, just pretty much slapping it onto the car.

decisions decisions, =P feeling going 4 for white and black look. as thats what i was aiming for anyway..

Not to stray too far off topic, but ive always liked to step back before dropping mad do$h on cosmetics and think "is my max worthy of the extra head turning?" Generally i end up changing my mind and blowing it/saving up to blow it on performance parts.

Sometimes i simply cant resist. Other times i cheat and rationalize how i need something i want (eg: those retro headlights will make driving at night better!!)

In the end i suppose the heart gets what the heart can afford..

im not much of a performance person, I like to keep the car running Stock to keep it running and preventing damaging other things, I always liked "looks, and creativity" like showcars if ya say.

chrisman that looks quite decent, spoiler makes it better for the 96 especially cause without it looks a bit round. and the orange makes it look old. nice picture though, more pics of ur rear with those lights please? would be nice. 97 trunk with no spoiler is just fineee, and spoiler as well. 95-96 ya need the right things to make it good.

and r those from ebay? they dont look like it to me.

I have some rollers. They are from eBay and I will be going no spoiler when my CF trunk is on. I might do a M3 style lip spoiler if I can find one in CF that'll fit well:

not bad looking, I like those lights with the spoiler and maxima on it, without "maxima" it looks kinda fugly imo, only 97+ can handle that.

wonder how it looks on white.

ur setup makes those lights look good.
