Couldn't find this anywhere (Bose problem)

So recently I went to replace the front right speaker Bose* turns out the speaker isn't bad there just no power getting to that side help?

Check fuses.

SplashMartinez Feb 13, 2014 05:54 AM

Check the fuses? 22 powers all for speakers so how could it affect that one speaker?

Aflion Feb 13, 2014 06:27 AM

That channel on your HU could have died, or there could be a short or breakage in the wire somewhere.

If there is no power to the speaker, then the channel in the head unit is not the problem. Since all speakers get power from the same fuse, it is not a fuse.

If 12 volts is not on the red wire at the speaker (pin 5), then it is a wiring problem.

Check wire continuity from the audio amp relay to the speaker connector. The relay is located on the passenger side of the car, behind the kick panel that is in front of the door.

Thanks

Yeah I was going to tell him to whip out the multimeter and start tracing wires looking for bad grounds, or shorts on the positive wires. But you beat me to it Denis
I must say that you are very knowledgeable and always give correct info. ;)

I appreciate the kind words. If they were only true...

Probably the relay.

DennisMik Feb 14, 2014 09:03 AM

Have to disagree with you, clive. The relay sends power to 4 speakers. 3 of the speakers are getting the power. If the relay was bad, none of the speakers would have any power.

slickblack94 Feb 14, 2014 09:51 AM

what if it is as simple as the replacement speaker's amp is also blown.

DennisMik Feb 14, 2014 10:00 AM

Since the op said he replaced the speaker, that would mean he replaced the amp also.

maxinout93 Feb 15, 2014 05:35 AM

you may have to run speaker wire from your headunit to that speaker. I had to run wires to all 4 of my speakers after I kept blowing the audio fuse.

JoshG Feb 16, 2014 12:18 PM

just buy new aftermarket speakers, they will sound better. plus it shouldn't be that expensive.

mista0406 Feb 16, 2014 05:19 PM

may be a bad wire connection at the HU:gotme:... you could run a wire from the other front speaker (from behind the HU of course) and get it working like that, you just will not have the balance option (L/R) for the front speakers.
