Grounding Kit
Recently installed a grounding Kit to the maxima, love it. I received instant results. From the positive effects the kit gave me, I do recommend it for everybody that is having power problems with electrical components that have slowed in its old age. My windows roll up faster, sound from the speakers are clearer, engine ticking vanished, and my headlights are brighter. those are the immediate notices I've encountered. Just letting the fellow org mates in on my recent upgrade.

Not bashing a grounding kit... but it's not really an upgrade per se. You're simply getting back what you lost over the years and bringing in back to what it was like brand new.
Is it worth doing? Most definitely. :) |
Now THAT is the closest to what the real deal is explanation on these kits so far!
KUDOS!

Is there more benefit for automatics than for 5-speeds?
The SE 5MT was running like a new car when I installed mine so I couldn't imagine how it could have changed anything. For me, I think it is a cool looking way to avoid future grounding issues. |
Engine ticking vanished?
Um, highly unlikely corrected or hidden by a grounding kit. The 2 sources of the VQ tick are the fuel injectors and valve trane noise. If the fuel injectors stopped ticking, they ain't working. If the grounding kit silenced a noisy valve trane, you'd better patten it. Just sayin... Your results may vary depending on which plycebo you've received. |
I didn't install an entire "grounding kit". But a couple of additional grounding points sure has made starting a lot easier on my 99 SE 5MT.

Ive noticed my windows have been rolling up and down slower over the years. I also have heavy audio equipment and get the dimming lights. Hopefully the kit will fix that.

I added one (1) from firewall to a bracket that hold maybe the throttle linkage on top center of the engine near the firewall. . I went to hardware store got some 8 or10 gage stranded wire and soldered on some lugs. how many are needed and where is the best place to connect the next one? |
I've seen the kits that so all cables leave from the battery negative terminal. Are these better ?
