98 5spd just purchased
Got a 98 with a blown head gasket...The body has 192k but I want to add energy suspension bushings to the car, motor mounts etc, while I have the motor out, clean the engine bay...What other things can I do to bring her back even better than before...

cleaning egr tube and idle valve air control
timing chain control
water pump and oil pump
pipes and gaskets control for lot leaking oil and water
There is thousands of things you need to check before you put on your car.
Your question is so general.

Water pump, fuel injectors, knock sensors while you are there, water hoses near the firewall which will be hard to change later on. Basically anything critical to operation, which is easier to do with engine out of the car. Change all fluids.
I strongly recommend replacing the clutch unless it has been replaced recently.
Make reliability your goal, followed by performance goodies should you still have money after all that.

Easiest one to replace since you have the engine out (not sure if the transmission is out too), is the rear main seal. This seal requires the transmission to be removed.
All of the above stuff is a good idea too.

ef9 is absolutely right. A leaking main seal can make a mess, and cause clutches to slip.
The seal is easier to change now than it will be later on.
It is good practice to change the rear main seal when the transmission is removed for service.

Since the uim will come off, you might as well get the injectors serviced and rebuilt.
They tend to leak and cause problems. Actually a little piece of plastic on the tip cracks.
Cleaned injectors mean a smoother engine and a little higher mileage.
You are doing a lot of preventative maintainance at this time. Good idea while everything is accessible.

What are some upgrades I can do while it's sitting, such as interior, engine bay, electrical etc. I'm looking to make this one of the cleanest, most reliable Maxima around...! Future plans are the radiator support, Es mounts & whatever bushings I can get & full front end rebuild.
