Idle is 500rpm with a/c off and about 750rpm with a/c on. My car is a manual and I'm reading it should be more like 600 a/c off?
It doesn't seem to cause any problems. It's stable and smooth.
I read the idle is controlled by the ECU and isn't adjustable so if it's wrong what could cause that?
I just bought the car. Looks to be in great shape and only 101k miles.

Slightly off throttle position sensor but going to town on trying to get it to idle higher when it seems to be happy were it is could cause you more problems.
The question you should answer is how capable are you under the hood and what tools do you have?
Cleaning EGR tube and Idle Air Control Valve are a good idea.

500rpm is a little low 600-650 is a good spot for idle. I keep mine at around 700ish. Idle is adjustable its located on the iacv. Its a black screw top. Make sure you adjust it while the car is on.

Read up on what member jholley recently did to get his idle back up to normal.
Ultimately, it was his fuel injectors dying a slow death. Less likely with lower mileage (NICE), but there's still a possibility if all the easier stuff doesn't net the desired results.
Good luck!
