My 99 maxima

In my 99 maxima all of a sudden the emergency brake light and the battery light in the dash turned on while driving (flickered) But when I put it in neutral at a red light it turned off,...what could it be?

Most likely the alternator. See following threads. If the alternator is out, you won't be able to drive far before the battery discharges. I would also get the battery checked for a short. I've had a shorted battery knock out an alternator.

^^^ +1 on what Craig said.

Classic alternator failure symptom.

+3. Bye bye alternator. Replace it now before it leaves you stranded. But test it first to confirm it's failing.

Like they said.....

....... and also takes your battery with it. Car batteries aren't meant to be drained to zero and it only takes a few times until it gives up the ghost. Especially if it's a few years old. (usually)

Check the belt condition and tension first before replacing the alternator. If the belt is worn or slipping, you could get the same condition. New multi belts are much cheaper than alternators. And don't forget to use an OEM belt if this ends up being your issue...otherwise the alternator is the likely culprit.
