So I have a 97 maxima gle 5spd. My alternator seized up on me so I got a new one and a new belt, now my car runs perfect. Few days ago when I started my car it started to squeal , and now it hasn't stopped. never goes away.. Steady squealing even when I drive, doesn't get worse when I turn, or when I turn the ac on. So idk what the problem could be. I know it's not the belt or alternator because I just had them replaced. Please help thanks.

Check to see if the belt tensioner pulley is turning. Also check the a/c compressor. And since the alternator is most likely a rebuilt, check the alternator. Use a stethoscope.

In other words - check everything
