Perhaps It's A Silly Thought | Modified Exhaust Silencer?

I've got a Megan Racing SS cat-back.

In combination with the OE mid-pipe, it sounded quite nice (at least to me).

I've recently installed my Warpspeed Y-pipe that's been sitting in storage for about a year and half.

Although I have not had the opportunity yet to hear the engine (other than at idle in the driveway) with the Megan system in combination with the Warpspeed pipe, based on the sounds I hear from the driver's seat, I'm not sure I like it.

I then installed the Megan system's silencer and this set-up now, I think, sounds pretty nice again. But, maybe I'd like a little more noise.

So here's what I'm getting to ... has anyone had any experience modifying an exhaust silencer to produce just a little more noise?

Looking at the Megan silencer, it "appears" that maybe creating a couple more drilled hose in forward-most restriction plate, the "noise" levels may be increased a tad.

Thought?

Experience?

Stupid idea?

I just spent a little time googling.

Found that an adjustable silencer can be had for < $20.

Maybe I'll try one of those.

We went through a couple of silencers on the 99 model. The biggest problem was the silencer bolts would vibrate loose on a 2+ hour road trip. After a couple of replacements we replaced the big can type exhaust pipe with a 3" pipe and muffler. Also had to add a tamer resonator to replace the glass pack. The neighbors were complaining about the loud car.
