Has anyone used a TYC window regulator+motor

One of the 99 model's window regulators is starting to crawl -- especially during cold weather. So I'm looking to purchase a replacement to keep on hand before it goes completely out.

Has anyone used a TYC window regulator? I've seen other members reference TYC products from Rock without issue.

No go on TYC. Based on a product review, I decided to use a 25% off coupon and go with the Advance Auto product. Anyway it will have a lifetime warranty.

I feel that your problem is more likely a motor problem than the regulator. One thing to try is to remove the door panel and see how fast the window moves. Also check that the glass has some side to side play in the channel guides. The glass can bind in there, too.

I have an essentially new regulator (no motor) that I bought for my 97 Maxima, right rear door. It didn't fix my problem so I took it back out, thinking I could return it. Silly me. But if you want it, I'll send it to you.

It's also possible the tracks the window glides up and down on, are having problems of their own. There are threads here on how members cleaned and lubed them and they were running fine again. Guess what they used... Silicone Grease.

I'm detecting a pattern here. LOL

Happy New Year KP!

Actually, I cleaned and lubricated the regulators when I sound deadened the doors in hopes of not needing to return for a long time. It helps.

The driver's side window is raised and lowered often when the car is in use. That was true for the 1st owner's use pattern and then mine. That window gets a lot of wear compared to the others.

The 27-year-old Q45 has similar regulators with plastic cable guides on the ends. The plastic on the regulators (and other interior parts) started breaking up around the 25-year point.

When the plastic ends break, the window drops and that's it. I sometimes wonder if the summer heat around here shortens the life of plastic parts as compared to other parts of the country.

You are such a copy cat. LOL

I am having the same problem with mine for a while now. Winter always exacerbates the problem. And we have colder Winters and hot and humid Summers. It's just tired and like someone's knees, needs help.

Driver's window as well. I find when the window is down and complaining and struggling to come back up, I grab the window top and push it towards the rear of the car to un skew it as it gets wracked from the sloppiness of all that keeps it true.

I think it's several parts of the entire "system" failing due to use and sure as Sheet, most aren't available anymore. Maybe harvesting the window seal tracks out of the door from the self serve junkyard (low mileage) might make a big improvement. I'm talking about the "Glass Run Channels".

I'll be watching as we play tag........ and You're IT! (Guinea Pig Mad Scientist!) LOL

Isn't it amazing how so many of us have parts laying around in the garage? And the parts fall into one of 3 categories - 1) Good 2) Maybe Good 3) Bad.

Suggested New Year's Resolution - Clean out the garage!

If I do, I'll be able to park my car in the garage.

i have owned at least one 4th gen continuously for the last 20 years. Each time they go i strip parts for the next . But they are really never needed. less than 2 years ago i scrapped a F250 load. I am not a hoarder , but it hurt to bring that much to the junk yard.

I feel your pain. I still have parts for my 1966 Pontiac that I sold in 1968.

Count me in as well ... only I think I truly can be labelled as a hoarder, mostly when it comes to parts associated with my truck ('94 F150 Lightning).

I simply can't help not buying anything that's BNIB or used but in working condition when it comes available (and nowadays that's happening less and less).

I just bought my 3rd BNIB original Ford multi-function switch the other day for $75. Don't need it, but as I see these parts becoming more and more scare, I just couldn't not buy it.

I've got at least three, maybe four of just about everything. Aside from the cab, box and frame I'm pretty sure I've got parts to construct 1.5 or maybe 2 more trucks.

I keep a 10 X 10 storage unit and at the moment it's literally 1/2 filled with boxes of truck parts. If I were to clean out my garage as Dennis suggests, I'd likely need a 12 X 12.
