It's really easy, I don't think you even need tools. Just unplug the power cord and hose from the pump and pull it snaps out. Note though that the pump is plugging a hole in the reservoir, so have a bucket or something ready to catch the fluid.
This is for an a 5th gen but it's similar, oh and you def don't need to remove all the crap they remove in this video to get at it
One word of caution. Once your done, just pour enough fluid into the reservoir to test it. When I did mine the act of taking off the hose from the pump loosened it so once I powered up the pump the hose flew off and all of the fluid ended up on the ground. I ended up using some zip ties to tighten it to the pump, will get a proper replacement hose one of these days.

when my pump died. I decided to replace the whole assy with one of these

gave me a new pump/resevoir/filler/and the low level sensor which my car was wired for but did not have. I connected the wire that was taped up and not used down there and added a bulb to that area of the inst panel and boom had a low fluid warning light when the reservoir got low.

Yeah when I did mine I just removed a few fasteners from the splash shield/inner fender or whatever and bent it out of the way.
