Interior makeover
My 99 has the security and convince package, ie not much frills. My 98 was fully loaded with all the available options that year. I want to swap over as much as possible into the 99.
Some time ago I installed 99 I30 perforated seats, front and rear, in the 98. After much cleaning and reconditioning they were ready to be put into the 99.
I had to repair the drivers seat pan. The metal is thin and prone to cracking and tearing. I welded the inside and for extra strength welded washers over the holes on the outside. For both front seats I had to clean and repaint the tracks where they bolt to the chassis. I plan to wire the heaters in the future. If I get super ambitious the air bags too.
Time for the doors. I didn't swap the whole door panels over because the 99 were in better shape. After ripping off the cloth, I used a rotory/spiral tool to make the holes for the leather inserts which have a metal backing with tabs to bend. The front door carpeted piece was easy, just unscrew the whole plastic map pocket and transfer it. The rear needed to be glued onto the panel.
This was a great time to change the color of the door switches. I had red ones ready to go, but the rear switches didn't work. Thankfully I had some red LEDs on hand to put in the original switches.
Some other parts that got changed out were the worn steering wheel and shift ****. I had an better condition SE wheel and near new AE shift ****. I added Motostorm chrome gauge rings (replaced dim illumination bulbs while in there), I30 leather parking brake handle, Redline Goods leather boots, anniversary edition pedals and a 350z dead pedal.
The stereo was replaced with a single DIN before I bought the car. They used a crappy install kit, the whole thing looked awful. I flush mounted the head unit and used a factory flip down pocket to make it flow better. While I was there I cut the clock dimmer wire and swapped some blown bulbs. The previous owner had Kicker speakers in the rear. I replaced the blown stock front speakers with some more Kickers.
As mentioned, I plan to wire the heated seats and maybe air bags. I would love to swap the auto climate control. Not sure if that will be worth it. There are a few rattles to track down, mainly in the roof. For now it is good for me.
Forgot to take pictures of its original state. Oh well.

I like your shift **** and the pedals are those the AE pedals? And what shift **** is that? I like my new leather interior more than the cloth I had in my last car I just wish it didn't look all cracked I want to get iggee seat covers there's a huge selection and they don't even look like seat covers, lightweight seats on the other hand would be nice to drop the weight... Too much on the to do list these are pipe dreams atm

I know you want a black interior. Too bad you can't find a cheap donor car to get what you need.
An alternative it to change the color yourself. I have used fabric dye and plastic paint, both in spray can form, with good results. Prep work is key.
