Aftermarket steering pump

Just checking if anyone has high pitched noises coming from their aftermarket steering pump replacement. I have a high pitched sound when I turn the wheel left or right. A couple of mechanics told me that aftermarket steering pumps do that. If it is a problem out there would like some recommendations.

I am currently running Cardone pumps on the 99 Maxima and on the 91 Infiniti 45 without issue. Now I've read reviews that seem to be 50/50 on good vs. bad. So I might have been lucky. Also note the pumps were purchased over 3 years ago. Are you running an aftermarket high pressure hose? I've read about people having noise issues with aftermarket hose.

I have high pitched noises when I turn, especially with cold weather, but my pump is not aftermarket.

If you need a new one, the Hitachi PSP0002 is the actual OE pump

Other than what pump and hose you have make sure you've got the right fluid. Would an aftermarket pump still use the same fluid or have its own specs?

Don't jump to replace it too soon. I had a high-pitched whine that changed pitch when I turned the wheel. I was resigning myself to replacing the PS pump. Then one day my brake and battery lights came on, and the whine instantly stopped. I replaced the alternator and the noise never came back.
